The long and winding road
Blunsdon bypass brings more delays for drivers
With the sun pounding this afternoon, today really isn't the day to be stuck in traffic.
But unfortunately for some, that will be the case.
Those travelling past the dreaded A419 bypass roadworks will inevitably be caught up in miles of traffic - on the day that a bridge linking Lady Lane to Blunsdon was officially opened.

Although construction of the actual bypass has been a nightmare for drivers, it will play a fundamental part in traffic control when it opens at the end of the year.
But for now folks, we've just got to grin and bear it.
Whatever you do, don't get frustrated - there's still a 40mph speed limit around the road works, and the speed cameras have already caught thousands of motorists.
Work on the whole bypass is expected to be completed in winter 2008.
